Happy birthday to me and thank you mama.
Few years ago I made a point of celebrating (preferably always in a different location) the fact that I managed to survive all those years and do a relatively decent job at doing so. My 28 on 28th post never went public, but I was away working in Morocco, shooting on sets which took me from ancient Egypt to Jerusalem in one day. It was special, yet how special it really was I can truly appreciate just now.
This year I literally flew into my 29 mid air London – Bangkok. I am one lucky, grateful person.
I had quite a year and even though at that the begging of it I felt I had everything figured out, HA HA, in my face. Obviously I understand as I write this, I might laugh at myself even harder next year, but at least now I won’t even attempt to pretend that I am much wiser than I used to be.
One of the biggest cliche discoveries for me this year though, is that no matter how old I get, there are still first times for me to be experienced and and no matter how experienced I might feel in something, I will still have to take a chance more often than not.
In no particular order here is a little list of other random stuff I’ve come to discover this year:
- Having girlfriends is awesome!
- Laser hair removal!
- Keto diet.
- Carbs make Asthma worse.
- Reformer pilates.
- Emotional abuse.
- Feeling the feelings.
- Attachment theory.
- Funerals are for the living.
- Making new friends completely randomly and not through work or other social activities.
- ‘I love my job and my job loves me’ hashtag.
- Falling in love
- Sister bond.
- Dreams really do come true. Keep updating the list.
Bring on the 30.
Cheers for never growing old; only wise and with the glass full of elephant.
